Great day yesterday at Journey... despite the loss by Auburn. As usual on away games and losses, attendance was down a little, but we had an awesome time finishing out our Juicy Fruit Series. We celebrated by sharing communion together and it was a very cool moment in our church. However, I was battling some sinus crud and felt like junk the whole morning. I'll have to go back and review the recording, but I felt like I stunk it up teaching yesterday. I'm very excited about our upcoming series beginning this week-- Collide-- It's going to be awesome. More on that later.
- I continue to be blown away at how good our band is. I still would put them up against anyone in town.
- It rocks when we share communion together, however, I never realized until I became a pastor how much preparation goes into it.
- My head still feels like it's full of snot.
- I honestly can't remember much of what I preached yesterday.
- We need to find someone to lead our youth ministry--ASAP!
- God is stretching me and testing me about taking our church to the next level. We're at a comfortable spot right now... but there are still thousands of disconnected people in Auburn.
- There are going to be some hard decisions to be made in the next 2 weeks about where we're headed and how we're going to get there. Hang on... It's going to be an incredible ride!
- God wants us to exercise faith BEFORE He takes us to a "whole nutha' level" (thanks Ed Young)
- I'm glad I'm the pastor at Journey Church...I looked around yesterday and saw evidence of God's Hand at work in the lives of most of our people. God is good!
- I can't wait to see what He does this week!
- October 1st I started reading through the New Testament again. I'm hanging out in the Red Letters... bring it!
- We're recording a podcast this week. I think I might do "10 things I learned while planting Journey Church". go to iTunes and subscribe.
- Journey is a baby factory. Katie Kulp was in church for the first time yesterday. It was good to see Emily back too! Trent and Valerie Bradley had Kadyn on Saturday morning. And Jeremy and Rachel Thomas are on deck! Won't be long now!
- We've got to get our nursery and preschool area ready in the next 2 weeks!
- From yesterday-- "I (Jesus) am the vine, you are the branches". Don't try to be the vine... that's His job... I need to be a branch and bear much fruit this week.
